In our fast paced lifestyle we are all looking for that ’Right Now’ result. The truth is the 'Right Now' might not always be possible but there are things you can do within short periods of time that will make you feel instantly better inside and out.
Home Detox
Detox’s are renowned for their quick weight loss results and there are countless cleanses and detoxs in the shops for you to purchase. . Unfortunately the weight loss that may or may not have been stimulated by detoxing is not as easy to continue or maintain once you have finished the detox and to be honest a detox is not something I recommend to my clients as a weight loss tactic.
Rather than doing a 'Detox' I recommend a 'Declutter' this is both mentally stimulating as well as physically effective. Your 'Declutter' starts with your food cupboards these can be toxic and can affect your eating habits on a short and long term basis so ditch the processed food, throw away the sugar covered goodies and replace the caffeine highs with berry blends.
Now remember your cupboards are still half full not half empty and all they need is a little boost with fresh fruit, vegetable, chicken, fish herbs and spices to name but a few things you can buy to add flavour to your new healthy eating plan.
Positive thinking
Starts right here and right now! I am a firm believer in positive thinking and that happy and positive thoughts attract happy and positive thinking people and situations.
Positive thinking is also about being kind to yourself it is easier to believe and tell yourself negative things for example 'I’m fat' or 'no one likes me' than it is to tell yourself 'I am a good person' or 'I do deserve to be happy'.
From today every time you catch yourself saying or thinking negative thoughts about yourself I want you to replace it with a positive I promise you will feel great instantly.
Revamp
What is your exercise program or lack of exercise really doing for you? Is it getting you the results you desire?
My revamp tips are to challenge yourself and try something new. This might mean booking a personal training session, signing up for a place on your local 10k or actually starting those dance lessons you have always wanted to do.
I have worked on many weekend and weeklong fitness/bootcamps camps and the key is variety and taking yourself out of your comfort zone. Remember your body needs to be challenged for it to develop and change.
Boot Camp Buddy
Grab a partner or friend to do this home bootcamp weekend with you so you can support each other through the energy highs and lows.
Health Spa your home
Its Friday and its 5pm the weekend is now officially yours and your hectic week of work, kids and trying to fit 28 hours worth of work in a 24hr day has finally caught up with you.
Stress can have a huge effect on energy levels, sleep patterns, weight gain and health to name but a few.
- So my TLC tip for you are
- Drop the kids off at your parents for the night or if you're lucky the weekend
- Stock up your cupboards with healthy energy boosting foods
- Start your day with a hot water and lemon to stimulate your digestion
- Head out for a relaxing power walk.
- Once you are home grab a stimulating shower and body brush to boost your circulation. Sit down and enjoy your breakfast
The rest of your day should ideally consist of light reading material maybe book a facial or massage to release tension and boost your whole bodies circulation and last but not least
Do a gentle stretch and relaxation session that should lead you nicely into an early and peaceful night’s sleep.
